New NBA League Realignment 2004-2005

New divisions are in order as 30 NBA teams tip off the 2004-05 season. Each conference will have 15 teams with three divisions of five teams.

EASTERN CONFERENCE
Atlantic: Boston, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto
Central: Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Indiana, Milwaukee
Southeast: Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Orlando, Washington

WESTERN CONFERENCE
Northwest: Denver, Minnesota, Portland, Seattle, Utah
Pacific: Golden State, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix, Sacramento
Southwest: Dallas, Houston, Memphis, New Orleans, San Antonio

Each division winner will earn one of the conference's top three seeds in the playoffs, which start on April 23. The rest of each conference's eight playoff teams will be determined by best overall records (home-court advantage in each playoff round will be determined by best overall record).
