Happy Corner

I'm convinced that the local students here are more crazy than American college students at home. They don't sleep, they get louder as it gets later, alcohol is like their caffiene (they all have ADD after they drink), there are guards protecting the mosquito pool because people get thrown in it, and most of all: happy corner.

When my friends inquired the local students in my hall about Happy Corner, their eyes got all big and they dropped their books and said, "where?" You don't even need to know how to speak Chinese. Once you say, "happy corner," you've connected with them and they get all excited.

Suddenly a group of fobs start walking towards me, all big-eyed, full of smiles, and though they didn't touch me, I still felt violated. I kind of got a taste of what it feels like when one's about to be raped.

I protested and they stopped once I knew what was going to happen. They were going to spread my legs and jam me into a pole or door edge.

Yeah, there have been newspaper articles about this. And "Blowing Out the Candles" is worse: They keep ramming you into a lamp until it goes out.
